Evaluation of Blog Experience

Until before English classes, blogs were a world unknown to me, I had never done one or less in English. I think blogging is very entertaining, because in addition to improving English writing, I have also been able to write about interesting things in my life. When I grow up I can see the things I wrote at the University and I think it will be fun for me.

Blogs have developed enough my skills to write in English, because although I am not very good with the language, when doing blogs I have learned new words to add to my dictionary.

For the future, I would like to continue learning English through blogs, I would like to make some about my friends or about things that interest me, I consider blogs a very didactic way to learn, I hope to be able to write correctly in English in the future not very far away, and I think that blogs are a good base to achieve that goal, I would love to learn how to pronounce words correctly in English, for that you need to practice a lot, either doing blogs, reading in English, or just watching movies or listening to songs in English, I am not very fond of this, but I will have to incorporate it into my daily routine in the future if I want to be able to speak this language perfectly.

Dreams

It's hard for me to write about a dream because most of the time I do not dream, and when I do, dreams are very confusing or just when I wake up I can not remember what I dreamed.

I do not have a dream in particular, but there are things that have happened to me sometimes, I have dreamed that I am falling, it is as if they pushed me from a very high place and for a long time I did not manage to touch firm ground. I've also dreamed that someone starts to chase me and I have to run but I can not move forward, I do not know what happens to my legs, but I'm stuck somewhere or it's just like I can not move them.

I have to say that these dreams are rather nightmares, because they are very maddenning and most of the time I wake them up I am very distressed.

I have never looked for its meaning because I do not have this kind of dreams so often and I do not really give them that much importance, although I hope they do not become frequent in the future, I would not like to have to wake up at night and less frightened by a dream

I have been told that I am not the only one who has had this kind of nightmares, I really do not know if that will be good or bad.

My favorite subject

My favorite subject this semester is Social History of Chile. This class is very interesting, since the teacher is an expert in his area and his way of explaining the subject is very captivating because his classes are very participative. Since I was little I have always liked History in general, but what most strikes me is the History of our country.

This semester the contents that we have studied the most are the history of Chile from the 19th century onward, going through all the historical processes that took place during 1900 to the present. One of the things that I am most interested in is the formation of the working class as a historical subject in our country, I am also very interested in learning about the military dictatorship that took place in Chile and the processes of organization of the settlers that took place in this period, their struggle against human rights violations and to re-establish democracy in Chile.

Although I do not have the best grades in this subject, I must say that Social History of Chile is the class that I like the most and entertains me.

Mary Richmond 

The person that I admire in the discipline of Social Work is Mary Richmond, I consider her a reference, since, even in the society of her time, she was one of the most influential women for Social Work

She was born on August 5, 1861 in Belleville, United States, was one of the pioneers in American social work. He had the idea of ​​turning this work into a formal work; created techniques, systems, contents and theories of social work inclined toward the formation of a discipline. She is considered one of the most important public figures in having fought for social work. One of its most important attributes was its ability to organize communities, as well as the ability to teach and speak intelligently about various social issues.

Some of his works are: in his first book dedicated to the techniques and methods of social work, entitled The social diagnosis; What is social case work ?, which explains the correct way to behave a professional dedicated to the area of ​​social work.

Sebastian Ayala 

My favorite artist is a young actor and director of Chilean theater, Sebastian Ayala Alveal, he has participated in many plays, short films, feature films, series and Chilean films. 

He was born on June 8, 1988 in Valparaiso, he lived all his childhood in one of the hills of this city. He studied theater and before finishing his career, began to perform small plays in which he began to become known. Some of the films he has starred in are "The passion of Michelangelo" and "Jesus." This actor became known in Chilean television thanks to the series "The Replacement", also participated in other series nationwide. He is currently 30 years old and has done a lot of theater plays, among which "Agoraphobia" and "Brian, the name of my country in flames" stand out. 

I met Sebastian, in his character in the series the Replacement, in which he played Maicol, a young man of limited resources who struggled to get ahead along with his little sister. Personally, I like Sebastian because of the versatility he has to interpret theatrical roles, as well as the works he does and some he has directed contain a strong social criticism.

The story of a Picture

This is a photograph that was taken a few months ago by my sister. In it is my nephew Matias and me. I love this picture because that was a very special day. With my sister we had to take care of our nephew, and we decided to go out with him and take him to the river that is near my house, it is a very beautiful and very quiet place.

Matias, since he was very small, well, even smaller, because he is only 5 years old, he has always loved playing with water, and that day when we went to the river, he began to throw many stones, his entertainment was to watch as he splashed the water at the time of throwing stones. I played with him all afternoon, just throwing rocks and seeing little animals that swam in the river.

What I like most, and why I chose this picture, is to see how much fun my nephew was. I am impressed to see that with such minimal things you can make a child happy.

My Pet

A few years ago, my dad came with an adorable and very small puppy to my house. My sister named him Railef, but we found that it was a very long name so we decided to call him Rai. He is a mixed dog, brown and with some white spots. He is very playful, loves to get dirty in the mud and bark at everyone, that makes him very protective.

Rai is always running and pursuing whatever comes his way, he is a very important dog for me, because although I do not see him that often, whenever I go to my house he receives me very happy and wagging his tail. Even though Rai is a little restless, he always makes us laugh with his follies, for example when he plays with horses or when he jump over us. I love my dog Rai, is the best pet

My pink headphones.

There are many technological pieces that I use daily and that have become an important part of me. But I think that without doubt the piece that I appreciate most are my headphones, since I love listening to music and without them I could not do it, because in public places like the street or the subway it is necessary to use so as not bother to others. I do not leave my Home without my headphones, I use them every day when I go to the university or wherever. A while ago, the headphones I had broke and I did not know what to do, until a good friend lent me his. After a while they gave me others and now I take care of them a lot.

I can not imagine life without headphones, because I really do not imagine life without listening to music and headphones are a fundamental tool. In conclusion, I must say that I love my pink headphones.

My dream work

When I was five years old my dream was to work as a cashier, then when I grew up my first option to study at the university was Social Work, though also I liked nursery education. Finally I decided to study Social work because I like to work with people who are in vulnerable situations, I am also interested in knowing the reality of people and from there generate productive changes in the system.

My experience so far as a student at the University of Chile, has been very interesting, since I have managed to learn a lot about Social Work and Social Sciences in general, I have also known good colleagues and teachers, but the most important thing is that I have managed to meet a group of friends who have become very important to me. 

In the future I would like to work in places where I could develop my profession from a critical point of view, where my work is really a means to generate changes. I think it would be a very interesting challenge for me to be able to work with people deprived of freedom or with children and young people at social risk.

I´m Catalina Espinoza Vergara. I was born in October 10 of 1998 in the city of Curicó. Mi mom is Cecilia  and my dad is Patricio. I have a sister, she is Allison. My family has always lived in "Palquibudi", a beautiful place that is located near Curico, in the seventh region. I was study in the kindergarden "Los Enanitos", then I was study in Santa Marta Institute for 12 years, I´m technical in accounting. I´m love to be with my nephew, listen to music and to be with my friends, also I like play violoncello. Actually I live in Santiago with my aunt because I´m study Social Work in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Chile.
